A Business Ethics Policy document outlines a company's mission and values to be socially responsible. This policy document states principles designed by a company to help all employees, suppliers, sub-contractors, stakeholders, or others in every company decision. A Business Ethics Policy provides guidelines for a company's activity to promote moral and transparent conduct. It may be a policy document from the parent company or headquarters rather than the individual location.

A company policy refers to their approach to a given issue and contains general principles. A policy may include components such as prohibited behaviours, rights, and dispute procedures. A Business Ethics Policy establishes company activity that is legal, as well as ethical, in full compliance with all laws and regulations. A Business Ethics Policy sets a clear framework and can help a company set expectations for both employees and suppliers. A Business Ethics Policy may also be found within Business Principles statements, CSR policies and statements and/or Codes of Conduct/Ethics.
