Background

Vulnerability management is the practice of knowing what vulnerabilities (either software defects that require patches to remedy, or configuration issues that require administrative activity to resolve) are present within computer systems and checking on a regular basis, as well as assessing, triaging, prioritising and implementing fixes on an ongoing basis to improve security and mitigate vulnerabilities.
